Both nurseries are fully staffed with a team that have a wealth of knowledge and experience in working with children under 5 years old. We have a diverse staff team, reflecting the wider community in which children will develop and grow.

Recruitment

The management team take time in selecting and recruiting staff. Prospective staff are carefully interviewed and are required to provide details for both character and previous job references, before employment commences. All staff must have a ‘clean’ current Enhanced CRB/DBS disclosure to ensure that they are suitable to work with young children.

Key Person

Our key person system helps to support children as they settle into the nursery environment, by providing a familiar consistent adult that they can develop a positive and secure relationship with. The key person will be sensitive and responsive in meeting the child’s individual needs, by developing play opportunities that will help progress your child through the developmental stages within the EYFS.

Training

We provide regular training courses for our staff team; to enable them to continually improve their skills, abilities, and keep up to date with current initiatives and legislation. These include:

• Team building
• EYFS
• Safeguarding and welfare
• Fire Safety

Little Cherubs achieved the Investors in People award and have continued to work with the Investor in People team to retain the status ever since. The Shortlands nursery was awarded with a QUILT Mark (Quality Assurance Scheme) certificate.
