About us

We are a small family run nursery who continually keep the welfare and care of children at the heart of everything we do. In January 2000 Little Cherubs opened its first nursery in Sydenham, the subsequent growth and success of the nursery led us to expand Little Cherubs; finding suitable premises in the Shortlands area of Bromley.

Both our nurseries are run by a dedicated Management and Staff Team; some of whom have been with us for over 20 years, since we originally opened.

We are always committed to finding the best possible staff to provide parents ‘peace of mind’, knowing that their child is being continually cared for in a safe, healthy and loving environment.

The environment

Our nursery environment focuses on encouraging children’s growing independence and making their own choices, to support their learning. One of our main principles at Little Cherubs is that 'Active Learning' and ‘Learning through Play’ is vital to the development of children’s potential.

All of our staff know the importance of a positive play environment for children, so they may develop good social skills and an appreciation of all aspects of our country's multi-cultural society. The planning of learning experiences is further designed to ensure, as far as practical, equality of opportunity between all children and that it celebrates diversity.

Activities are promoted using a balance of child-initiated adult-led and opportunities both indoors and outdoors.

Children’s own work and creations are valued through discussions, displays and recognition.

Staff inform Parents/carers each day via ‘The daily Diaries’ in our EyLog app. This allows parents to share the activities & experiences their child has taken part in, with photos, videos & in depth information on what their child’s daily routine with food, bottle, sleep & toileting information.

Little Cherubs Library

At Little Cherubs, we recognise the importance of children reading books from a young age. Creating a language rich environment, helps to build confidence and self-esteem. Aiding

cognitive development, good mental health & wellbeing. This brings pleasure & builds a great bond between family groups.

Little Cherubs have created a library system that will provide families with the tools to start a partnership between the nursery learning & a child’s home. Our system is interactive for both parents & children to allow focus on promoting elements of British values. Children can take ‘ownership’ & responsibility of books, multimedia & having their very own Little Cherubs library card.

Parents are also able to access our online library system and can reserve books & home learning packs from our online catalogue. These are ready for your child to take away at the end of the day with them. We also can offer a ‘click & collect’ if your child or family cannot attend for any reason.

Partnership with Parents

As part of our partnership with parents and keeping that ‘Family feel’ we hold Friends of Little Cherubs meetings 2- 3 times a year virtually with our management team.

It is an ideal opportunity for parents/carers, staff and other parties connected with the nursery to meet informally to discuss forthcoming events, current topics and any updates on child development. This is also a good time for parents to get to know the staff and other families; sharing ideas and experiences.

Monthly Workshops & Talks

Little Cherubs try to provide all parents with up-to-date information on different topics during the lockdown.

Parents will have access to workshops, webinars and talks with many Early Years professionals from different sectors. We hope this helps all our Little Cherubs families keep in touch and feel like we are all part of a wider family here to provide the outstanding care our children deserve.
